Colors are beautiful in nature and in quilts

Just finished these 2 quilts and they will be going up at the Material Girls Quilt Shop in Draper this Friday. Both quilts are made from Riley Blake's "All Star" fabric line. Josie's Quilt is one I made to teach to my new quilt class at church. Fau Cathedral window is a new technique which allows you to construct and quilt all at once on your machine so that you don't have to send it out to be quilted when you're done-- it has raw-edge applique which looks fun after it has been washed and dried.

New quilt addition: All Dolled Up
Finished this one a while ago, but it was at the machine quilter's for a while and then putting the binding on had to wait while I finished other projects. I loved appliqueing this cute quilt that Barbara Jones of Quilt Soup designed. The applique blocks are so unique in All Dolled Up; not just baskets or flowers, etc.

Well, I am discovering that either I don't know what I'm doing( probably), or I can't just dump my entire quilt folder onto this blog site, so it is taking me forever to bring one picture at a time over and have the blog format it, so I only put a few quilts up. As I make new quilts I will add them one at a time. Thanks for your patience! Mary
Mary's quilts
Hi, my name is Mary and I am a quilter. Some of my friends and family have been asking me to set up a blog so they can view my quilts, old and new. I have been quilting for around 15 years and my favorite thing is needle-turn applique. I work on a very part,part-time basis at Quilt Soup Inc. Quilt Soup is owned by my dear friend Barbara Jones who designs quilt patterns, quilt books, and she also designs quilt fabrics. If I behave myself she lets me go with her to teach applique classes and help her in her booth at the Road To California quilt exposition. Quilting has become a passion with me and I have made many wonderful friends and aquaintences through quilting. About 3 years ago another friend of mine, Charmaine Anderson, encouraged me to start taking pictures of my quilts and keeping a journal of where those quilts ended up. I give most of my quilts away or donate them to charitable auctions and forget I even made many of them. Thanks to Charmaine and the encouragment of others I am trying this new blogging thing! Hope you enjoy.
