I love, love, love this runner I made for my coffee table. I fell in love with the bright, clear fabrics one day when I was at Quilter's Haven in Bountiful. I have a new applique book with has lots of individual blocks which you can either assemble into a quilt or use individually or in small groupings. I put these two together and I smile every morning when I see it.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW
This was a special project for me. My friend, Marlene Yates, brought me a scrap of an old quilt top, a double wedding ring, which her Grandmother had started long ago. She asked me if I could somehow make it into something she could display. The original quilt top was made from 1930s fabrics and I was able to get this reproduction 30's green fabric to applique it onto. I then found this multi-color tiny floral reproduction which matched many of the prints in the original piece. I loved this project, uniting a grandmother and her granddaughter through the art of quilting.
